Social Responsibility
Olive Delta takes social responsibility seriously and donates to a different charity every year. This year Olive Delta will be donating to.
The Humane Society International (HSI).
The decision to choose this particular charity was based on:
- The vast work they cover being the voice and advocate of various animals.
- Promotion of welfare and education.
- Rescuing and re-homing as well as highlighting cruelty worldwide.
Financial Support
Olive Delta has recognised the worked carried out by HSI and we have invested over £25,000 over a number of years to help support the charity in their global efforts.
Our personal commitment
We have a personal commitment as we have always rescued dogs and the most recent was Moby who we rescued in May 2022 from Humane Society International. Moby was destined to be on someone’s plate and was in a cage on a meat farm waiting to be slaughtered until Humane Society International rescued all the dogs in that particular farm. A large proportion of Jindo breed dogs go to Canada and US as there is less regulation. That being said 10 were flown into the UK and were waiting for adoption.
After a 14 hour flight they landed in London and were transferred to foster homes waiting for adoption.
As soon as we met Moby he was scared
shaking and not sure what was happening to him and flinched with every movement. We were prepared for the challenges that lie ahead for him as we knew we could give him the home he so deserved.
When Moby came home he did not know what a bed was, how to play with a toy or more importantly what a home and love was.
Over the years Moby has gradually accepted his home and accepted mankind even when he has seen killing of other dogs. Every day he battles with challenges to reduce his fears and boost his confidence.
As Moby never had a mother or another dog to show him how to be a dog, he lacked the basic understanding. There was only so much we could do with training so we went to another animal charity called All Dogs Matter in London and walked with a few rescue dogs to see what would work. To our surprise this totally laid back French Bulldog stole his heart (and ours).
Poppy has been a great addition
and they both just work together and she has given him direction and support.
We believe
this photo speaks for itself and we hope to do more in the future.
